Lions Presentation





LION Presentation 🦁
Lions are wild animals that are described to be the second largest cat, Lions have manes (Manes are the hair that grows around the lions face), Lions have blondish, gingerish, brownish fur with a tail for 26 inches to 40 inches long according to The National geographic, Male lions are usually for than 6ft long while Lionesses (Female lions) are less than 6ft (including the tail).

Their natural habitat is savannah.  Savannah is a grassland that is with only little rain and little shade.  They are so dried that the lions fur really camouflage with it.  You can find savannahs around africa and other countries.  Lions used to live in some bit of africa but now they are usually found in the south Sahara desert and in part of southern and eastern Africa.  In addition to African,  lions were found
From Greece through the Middle East to northern India.

Lions are Carnivores so they eat meat. Lionesses usually knock and kill the animals for the pride but it is the lions that search for the food at the night. There prey are Buffalos, Antelopes, Zebras, baby Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, wild Hogs, Crocodiles, and Giraffes. Sometimes when they are not hungry they eat smaller things like mice, birds,hares, lizards, and tortoises.

Well first of all no one ever knew why male lions gets a mane. But suddenly a biologist named Charles Darwin first suggested that male lions have a  mane so  that it protect its  neck from fighting other male lions.  It also allows a male lion to asses its fighting ability and then a female get’s to choose a mate.  If the mane is primarily a shield around the neck then it will be a perfect target to attack and get wounded.

Lionesses give birth to cubs after being pregnant for 3 ½ months. While they are giving birth to the cub female lions give birth up to 4 cubs at a time although throughout the litters they have 2 or 3 in common. When a cub is first born it has a graysh fur and as they get older their fur starts to change colour into the actual colour.

Lions don't really have predators but when they get older or if there babies without their mum antelopes and hyenas eat them.

Lions have many problem but one of their main problems are including medical. They suffer from these 2 and many more. The disease they have are called “Canine distemper virus” and “Bovine tuberculosis” lions also have illness that relates to their fragility.
The lion in the middle had these illnesses and died.

Lions are used for circus but at least now they are going to be feed more and raised better from the animal keepers.  Lions are also at the zoo to keep the kids fascinated, The best thing about the lions at the zoo  is that because they are carnivores the zoo will produce with beef everyday instead of them eating poor innocent animals like, Buffalos, Antelopes, Zebras, baby Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, wild Hogs, Crocodiles, and Giraffes.

This week we were learning about animals .  We had to search about their diet/prey , Habitat, adaption, breeding, predators, Disease and illness and  how they are in captivity.  Me  and edith 's was lion.  This is our description that we have to say in our presenting.  Up top you will see a presentation that has pictures.  The pictures show you what they eat, were they live, what are there diseases and illness, and how they are special, Breeding, There predators, an lions in captivity.

WALT: Plan for Writing


Don’t Mess With the Little Girl

Once upon a time at exactly dusk til dawn there  was a magical island beyond the clouds; around the corner of this beautiful whereabout was a dark haunted cloud filled with all of the rejections for the earth and making it a wonderful place to be. Down the further end of the cloud was a rusty cave that was restricted for all creatures and Humans. In this cave was a family filled with flying, magical, fire breathing dragon.

One day when the family had left the eldest dragon alone, he kidnapped a little girl from the other dimension and decided to put a  magic spell on her but little did he know he had read it wrong and accidentally alternated himself into a...GORILLA (“DUN DUN DUN”) as he turned into a gorilla the girl and himself descended for the clouds to the real world. When they had roughly fallen, they both fell in different positions of the city ‘Legvc’, when the gorilla fell he landed on his head and forgot a plethora of memories. 3 years later the gorilla was balling his eyes out as he lost everything on the night that he tried to to turn the girl into a gorilla but he transformed into a gorilla, and he could not ask for any help because they would never trust a gorilla, when it came to a dead end the gorilla just kept wishing that he would just rest for eternity.

One day he was walking like a sloth and a girl recognized his eyes and poked him in the heart with her lollipop stick and out came a huge fly which turned out to be the dragon but the dragon had better powers now because he can transform into anything and after the girl saved his life he decided to apologize for kidnapping her and he changed his personality to goodness instead of evil and he persuade his family to do the same thing, the family and the girl were friends and had parties together.

So the end of the story was his family and himself were good, well… for now!

Food ads



Today we were watching ads and we have to try to figure out what is trying to sell you and how is it trying to sell you.

This advertisement is selling fries for just $1. It is trying to persuade me to buy this product by trying to buy the fries and have a competition who can eat the most just in 1 minute or an other minutes.

Today we were learning about temperature.We learned a new word which was thermometer.Miss ashley explained us what does the word means.The word There means heat and the word meter means measuring so mostly Thermometer is something you can measure the temperature.Then she taught us how to read the temperature.She told us not  to look at the F but look at the C. C means celsius and the F stands for fahrenheit(which is the way that the americans measure the temperature).She told us that the temperature of a freezing pt -0*c

Title: Should Children spend more time at school?


I think that children should spend more time at school, 2 reasons why children should spend more time at school
  1. So that they can learn more then what they already know
  2. So next year they can be ready for new stuff
  3. Extra Curricula
And so they can get more credit in their learning
And because of these reasons we both are “FOR”.

Some believe that spending more time at school is boring just because they want to have more fun then just doing work,
For example kids these days don’t do much work because all they think about is giving up and having more fun than learning more.
But on the other hand I think that because children don’t know much I think that’s why children should spend more time at school or teacher's could just give children homework everyday.


Obviously it is true that children just think about free time instead of focusing on their work.

I think fidget spinners should not be allowed because they can distract the classroom,that its waste of money and that it is rude to play with it if your teacher is trying to teach something important.

I think that fidget spinners should not be allowed at school because it distracts you from your learning.One reason is that you get bored and then you start playing with your fidget spinner and you get distracted by the colour of your fidget spinner and you are too busy playing with your fidget spinner and you didn't finish of your work then the bell rang.For example one time I was playing with my friends fidget spinners I coulden't stop myself because I got distracted from other people playing with it so I start

She feels bored and hot. I think that because people normally groan when they don’t like what is happening, so maybe she was bored in class and didn’t want to do what the teacher asked. The drought meant that the weather would be really hot.

She feels enthusiastic, and excited, and we think that she's having fun. We think this because sometimes when your like having fun you just wanna scream and jump up and down.

I think she feels like maybe he isn’t in the mood at the moment, and also a bit awkward because deep down she was waiting for him to say something but she thinks that it was only mom that said things like that. We think that because of the quotes around that text.

We think that he is feeling depressed and we think she's feeling a bit sad to because all of it is happening just because her mum passed away.We think that because if our Mums passed away we would feel the same.
“I pick up my pen and, trying not to think of Dad asleep at the table, or Mum dying, or the skinny sheep, I close my eyes” (page 6)
I think at this moment she is having some time to think about herself and actually being able to write this story. We think she's feeling free and happy because this is encouraging herself to work on this story about “DROUGHT”!

WAL:How much sugar in different drinks.

Today room 7 was learning about measuring grams.Miss Ashley came with 7 bottles.Miss ashley instructed us to find out how much sugar in the drinks.By finding out how many sugars there are in each bottles we looked at the back of the drink  and read the Nutritional information.The first bottle we did was e2.it had 75g.Then we measured the rest.V had 26.5 grams and fuze tea haves 22g and coca cola had 27g and fresh up had 98.0g and the feijoa drink had  96 g and the last one was water which have 0g.The drink that had the most sugar was fresh up and the bottle that had the least sugar was fuze tea.I was really surprised to see that coca cola have 27g of sugar but I thought it will be more than that.I have really enjoined this activity because everyone was showing the school values and that everyone participated and that everyone tried their best to read the scales.

WALT: Read nutritional information.


This term for our inquiry topic is Fuelled for life - Food,Fitness,Feel Good!.Today room 7 is learning how to read the labels of the food.Some people thinks that it's alright to just chuck in the food they like when they go shopping but I think they should first read the labels and check if it's healthy or not.This photo is me holding a bottle of Feijoa Frenzy Smoothie.It contains per 30g of sugar and the Sodium(Which is salt if you didn't know) has per 2.5g and the Energy that gives you is 546 kj.I hope that maybe next time you should read the labels to check if it's healthy and it is protein and check the sugar and the sodium the more it's less the better it is to eat.

Today room 7 was learning about the food pyramid.Miss Ashley got some countdown and New World catalog.We first got a big paper and drawed the pyramid and then cut out the foods from the paper and figure out which food is Healthy,sometimes food and food that we eat a little.

I have really enjoined this activity and that next time I am going to start eat5ing healthy.

WALT: navigate website to find information.


Today this morning room 7 were learning about AMETI. AMETI stands for Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative.We have learnt so much about it.I learned that they are going to replace the panmure sign roundabout with traffic lights. And also they are making a parallel bridge on top of tamaki river. They are changing the lagoon drive into a bus lane and they forced us to drive throughout the panmure shopping center.

The Magic Box

The magic box

Today in room 7 Miss Ashley showed us a box. It wasn’t just an ordinary box it was a magic box. So Miss Ashley introduced what we had to do.

What we had to do was that we first get blindfolded and then Miss Ashley puts something inside the magic box and we had to find out what it was.We had to use our other senses to figure out what was the subject.

All the students took turns.It felt forever as I waited.It was finally my turn.I felt so nervous when miss ashley put the blindfold on me. I was starting to question myself is it going to be gross? Or was it gonna be hard or soft? Finally Miss Ashley said “ go” so I started to feel the subject. I was surprised because it wasn’t an object it was a food. Finally it was a food because my stomach was hungry and also I didn't had any breakfast.

It felt so hard and rough. It was very breakable and it tasted like doritos.When I bit into it my mouth made a “ crunch “ noise.I took another bite and another and another until my tongue felt like it was on fire! It was really spicy! Then I told Miss ashley, I gave up then she took of the blindfold  and told me that it was corn chips. Then I replied “ That was what I was thinking in brain”.

I really enjoyed this activity. It was really funny and it helped us by our learning by practising our describing words.
