Te Tuhi Reflection- Abstarct Art

IALT: Reflect about Te Tuhi

Malo Lelei and greetings to you all! Welcome back to my blog! Labour weekends are over and we are now back to school. To start of with our day half of the Kia Manawanui Sydicate went to Te Tuhi. I was so excited because I couldn't wait to make my own abstract art!

Druing my time at Te tuhi ,I have learned more about abstract art. Abstract painting is a type of artwork that uses different types of colours, shapes and textures to make something look realisitc. With abstract art you can express your feelings and be as creative as you can! In my opionion, using technology is a great way to make abstract art. There are pencils, paintbrush, paints and many more technologies they use to make abstract art. Having these technology really helps alot because it makes the artwork atracttive in it's own ways and it is a faster way to make it.

There were 4 instructions to follow to make our abstract art:

1. Trace out stencials on a cardboard with a pencil. In this lesson we used 4 setncials. I used Ipod, Laptop, PS4 and a Pencil.

2. Then go over it with vivid so it can stand out. In this also draw lines with a ruler and draw lines that goes across and down.

3. After you have done that, then you can chose what type of primary colours you would like to add to your paint. Mines were Pruple, White, Yellow and Light Blue.

4. Now you can begin painting! WAIT! Make sure that you do not paint the same colours next to each other you have to spread them out. I did find some difficulties doing this and making sure that when I am mixing my colours I got the right shade. I had like 3 different types of shade of Purple because I didn't know how much Red I need to put in and how much Blue I need to put in. I realise how important it is how to measure things!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once we finish our piece of artwork, we had a look around the art gallery. My favourite one was " SWEET JESUS". A woman created this block of words made out of brown sugar. The story behind this was that back to her generations, her family were working in a sugar cane company. This was held in Australia. This is why she chose to create the word jesus out of sugar. THe reason why she chose jesus because they were christanity. And since her family had rough times being slaves, they knew that god is there to guide them even if they are in the worse condition.

Abstract Art!

WALA: Abstract art

Bonjour and greetings to you all! Welcome to my blog!

Yesterday in the last block we had a lesson of  Abstract art. I haven't heard of this type of art so I was really looking foward to learning about it. Absrtact art is a type of art that uses shapes, colours and textures, to make an effect.

Here is an example of a Abstract art:

As you can see the artist have used different types of colours, shapes and textures to make it abstract. What can you see in this artwork? Well I can see houses. You see with Abstract art you can see it in your way. People have different opinoins of what they think they can see in abstract art. With abstract art you can do anything! You can think out of the box and be as creavtive as you can! I have really enjoyed learning about abstract art and getting to learn more about Abstract art. Something I found challenging in this seccion to understand how to make something abstract and understanding the meaning of abstract!

What we also learned about is what kind of technologies that we use to make abstract art. I think we use pencils, paper, paint, ruler, measuring tape, hammer, paint brushes and many more! I think that having these tools made it easier for us to create our own artworks. We have more time to create than less worries!

Maths- Decimals!

WALT: Read decimals to three places.
SC: I can read decimals to three places.
I can explain the value of the number.

Talofa Lava and greetings to you all and welcome back to my blog! Today in this middle block we had a seccion of Maths! For maths we are now learning about decimals! During this seccion I had a great time learning more about decimals! I now know that on the right side of the decimal point is WHOLE NUMBERS and on the left side is FRACTION OF A NUMBER.  This has really helped me to understand how to read decimals up to three places.Image result for decimals

Another task that was given was a work-sheet. We had to to slove decimals from greatest to least and least to greatest. I was buddied up with Lydia. I think that Me and Lydia knew this so well because how we knew our place values on decimals and we also knew which was greater than the other, least from the other. What I found challenging during this task, trying to understand Lydia's strategy. She kept on explaining like a million times but I still didn't get it( Sorry lydia). She then proof to me why we should chose her stragey, then I agreed with her so we chose her stratgey!

Other than that, I have really enjoyed my time learning Decimals with Ms Komor and getting to work collaboratively with Lydia!

I hope you enjoy this blog post!

🍫Technology Cooking- Chocolate Muffins!🍫

Malo Lelei and greetings to you all and welcome to my blog!

As you know that every thursdays we go to Technology! Now I am very excited( as always) because we are going to cook something new! Every week we cook something different. Today we are cooking... CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!!! I am such a big FAN OF CHOCOLATE AND MUFFINS!! So I was really looking foward to it!

My buddy was Edith! Me and Edith have worked really well last week. So we decided why not, just buddy up with each other again! As always, we go througth the 4 main rules.

Which are:
1. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
2. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
3. HOW TO MEASURE CORRECTLY
4. SHOW RESPECT

Now we move on, and make our CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!

Here is the Recipie:
1. 2c of SRF( Self Rising Flour)
2. 1c of sugar
3. 1/2 cup of oil
4. 1c of milk
5. 1 egg
6. 1/4 of coco

Now when you are combining all of these ingridents you have to be very carful. If you stir it to much or fast then, you will lose to much of air, and when you put it into the oven it won't form into that circle round shape. This is why you fold it instead of stiring it. And you only stir it for 4 minutes or esle, if you overdue it, the mixtutre would be thick and when you put it into the oven it would be flat. This is why it was important to follow this process.

Then you can pour the mixture into the muffin tray, but half a serving spoon or else if you put to much or less it won't form into the right shape. Now this is another thing that you would have to be really careful about.

Put it into the oven and heat the oven to 180℃ for 15 minutes. Grab a toothpeck stick and poke the muffin. When you bring the stick out and there is something on it, then it is not ready. But if there is nothing on the stick then it is cooked!

You can now enjoy your own Chocolate Muffins!

Now you can make your own Chocolate Muffins!

I really enjoyed working with Edith, we have really worked well togther( well everytime!). With our Muffins Edith accidently added 1/2 cup of coco( which made our ones thick, but luckily Ms Tuipulotu came to the rescue! Our Muffins actually turned out great! It was even more CHOCOALTY then everyone elses!

Hope you enjoy this blogpost!

My first blog reflection for Term 4 2018!

IALT: Reflect about my holidays!

Hola and greetings to you all and welcome back to my blog! It has been awhile, but now I am back! Now as you know that last week and before last week we had school holidays! I was EXTREMLY EXCITED for holidays because I can finally have a looong break and EVEN better I get to sleep in( YASSSS!!). But now we are back to term 4!( YAY!) Last term of the year and many more excitments to come!( can't wait for this term!)

2 interesting things I did in my holidays was having NO WIFI in 2 WEEKS( I know right) and also something I found really iteresting was finishing of some of my maths and pretty much reading.

Related imageDuring my holidays I found it really difficult to enjoy my holidays. Why? Well, because for the rest of my holidays I.. HAD... NO... INTERNET!!( I really got MAD).  Now I was at my nans house and can I be honest I actually enjoyed myself with out internet. I got to spend more time with my nana and just having a great, fun time at my nans house. The first week of my holidays was aboustly AWESOME! We went to mission bay to start of with our holidays! The beach was beautiful, the tides were in and the sand was very soft like a pile of feathers.

During our time there I enjoyed playing with the sand and building sand castles with my little cousin, Miriam. It gave me memories back when I was young and I would always love to play with sand with lily.  Miriam was only 1 years old and we were trying to help her conqure her fears of sand. It was funny because when my aunty put her down she immdieatly cried but when my aunty gave her food she calmed and she relaxed sitting on the sand and enjoying her delicious orange!( By the way orange is her second favourtie friut).

After we enjoyed our time at the beach my uncle shout us with ice cream. We head at this shop called, MOVENPICK. I literally couldn't wait to put that ice cream in my mouth! The flavour that I got was Mango and Swiss Chocolate! It was soooooo gooooood that I wanted to go for seconds! We finally arrived back at home, and the rest of our day we slept.

Something I did that most others won't do during there holiday, was reading books and completing some of my maths.  To others this might seem boring but to me I found this as a hobbie. As I was doing my maths most questions were complicated. I first tried to figure out and solve it. After giving it a go, I still don't get it so I went over to my uncle, Sake and aksed him for some help. We worked out the problem together and we founded a solution. I have learned a tip from my uncle. He told me before you start solving, always simplify the problem, cause then it will be eaiser to figure it out.( Thanks Sake for giveing me that tip)

Things that I would be looking foward to for this term is lots. One thing that I am really looking foward to is our new inquiry topic. Our new inqiry topic which is about technology. I am so ready to learn something new about technology.  I am also excited for our trips that we would be haing for this term, like for example MOTAT, Te Tuhi and many more.

For this term I would like to improve on 2 things. One, setting a growth mindset and 2, improving on my writing.  I would like to imrpove on setting a growth mindset in all my learning areas. I find it very difficult when I chose to set a fixed mindset because it affects me on my learning, like for example I easily give up and instead of trying. This term I would to just give it my all and just tryng my best. I know that I have my teachers and friends, that would help me achive this goal.

Secondly I would like to improve on my writing. I am not a big fan of writing but I do try my best getting use to writing reflections or being able to understand what type of topic of writing we are learning about. What I find challeing in writing is that I think waay to much and I don't get enough paragraphs or sentences down. And plus sometimes for me it is hard to understand it and most of the times I like it when we go step by step instead of rushing to it. Like I said before, my teachers and friends but not only them but myself as well, to achive to be a better writer.

What is Technology?

WALA: Our Technological World

Malo Lelei and greetings to you all and welcome back to my blog! Today is another day of scholl and I am so excited! Since it is a new term, there's always new things to learn about!

Image result for types of technology
Today in the Kia Manawanui syndicae we started of with Inquiry. For Inquiry we had a new topic to learn about. I was really looking foward to it, so I was a bit excited. Our new topic is... Technology! To me technology is what I normally use during my time, at school at home and basically everywhe
re. Before we could get into learning about technology, we listed down what type of technologies we use at home. Most of them were quite similar like for example laptops and a play station are in the same catogories, because they are both elcetronic technology. We aslo cane up wih a definition which is: Technology is something that is use for a purpouse. What this mean is that every technology that you use, always have a meaning to it or why you use it? For example, I have a spoon, so I can eat in a better way instead if using my hands.

2 types of technology that I use everday is my chromebook and a spoon.

I chose these two because one, I use this everyday( which is obvioius) and 2, I use them for a reason, a good REASON!
Image result for chromebook
I use my netbook at School, Home and nearly everywhere( unless my mum says to leave it home). There are many reasons why I use my netbook. My netbooks gives me infromation about my learning and it entertains me with yo
utube were I can listen to music or play my favourite games( only if I get my work done)! My chrombook is easy to access to the wifi and it helps me to catch up on my blogs or my work. I can nearly do EVERYTHING on my netbook!

Image result for spoon

A spoon. What could we ever do without a spoon? Well, I am definetly not sure but I do know one thing! If we didn't had spoons then we wouldeve been eating with our hands. It might sound gross, but this is what I think it would happpen. I use my spo
on to eat but not only that, but suprisingly spoons can be very handy at some points. We have a cupboard that has no handle and I use the spoon to open it. The spoon then turns into a Bendy type of Spoon.
